Question Cannot post binaries to Usemet

Hi folks,

My program for posting binaries to Supernews & Usenet is Newspost with a KDE-frontend Knewspost 1.1 on a Mandrake10 Linux system, and I make use of Supernews and Usenet.

Posting of binaries to Supernews - included with my isp - goes without any difficulty or delay, everything I post arrives neatly and completely in yEnc-blocks.
Binaries that I've posted on Supernews appear also in the same newsgroup on Usenet.
But my uploadspeed to Supernews is limited to appr. 55KB/sec. by my isp, and not all mp3-newsgroups exist on both services.

When I try to post the same binaries to the payserver usenetserver.com, the program keeps standing still as it seems.
The last Iine of the log says: <file info> posting 1 of 30.
The leds on my modem show activity, but the upload keeps "hanging" on the indicated yEnc-block 1.
I do not receive any error messages, so I'm very puzzled why it does not post.
The program itself is not hanging, I can stop the upload and/or quit the program in the normal way.

There are no difficulties with the posting of text messages on Usenet, but for that purpose I use Pan and my own mailserver.
On the other hand, the downloading of binaries from usenetserver.com goes very fast, I receive binaries with a max. of 740KB/sec.

There seems to be a subtle difference between Usenet and Supernews, but I don't what it is.

If you have experience with this posting subject please let me know.

For any reply I thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Schmurff

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
