Cannot login to my ftp server from another computer.
 
Alright i have a proftp server running on my desktop pc with anonymous login enabled. I am able to login to it from its own box ok. but when i try to login from my laptop using the net ip i get a connection timeout and when i do it with the local ip i can connect but when i try to login as user ftp it asks for my password as a full email address and i do this but i get a login incorrect message what exactly am i doing wrong and how do i set up the users and passwords for my ftp server?

hi there

have u checked ur firewall settings for ur net ip??
u can also portscan ur netip usiug nmap and see if ur FTP ports are open

hi there

check out for firewalls that u r running
close ip tables service,that wuill close all ur firewalls

service iptables stop

then test ur setup for ftp

also scan ur port foro ur netip using nmap

nmap <ipaddres>

nmap --help for more info and options
