Question Cannot enable framebuffer support in 3.0.6 kernel

Hello.

I'm tying to enable a framebuffer support in my linux distro. I have Ubuntu Server 11.10 and my own distro (based on LFS) on my machine. In Ubuntu framebuffer works well and it seems that it uses nouveau driver. The problem is in the second distro...

In LFS framebuffer works if I build vesafb module, but resolution is very poor (I need 1680x1050), so I trying to build a nouveau module, like in Ubuntu. When I enable this in .config:

Code:
CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU=m
CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU_BACKLIGHT=y
CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU_DEBUG=y
and do `make` it doesn't build nouveau module! And it's very strange, but lines, I've put above has disappeared from .config!

Please, tell me, what am I doing wrong? Thank you.

Check other things that nouveau and DRM might depend on, such as AGP.
