I have been trying to access a website [site deleted at the request of ondoho] for two days now. Attempting to access it on my Fedora (34) using Firefox, I am first taken to a Cloudfare captcha page, which I complete correctly. The target page then appears for an instant but is then replaced with a white page with the words "An unexpected error occurred". I figured this was just a browser issue, so I cleared the cache and turned off my vpn and tried again. No luck. I rebooted, no luck. I tried 3 other browsers (Brave, Chrome and Midori) -- again, no luck. Frustrated, I then turned on my laptop which is dual boot Endeavour and Deepin. Endeavor (Chromium, Brave, Firefox), same issue. Deepin, same issue. I then tried with my RPI4 running Manjaro with Firefox. Same issue.

I also tried installing Privacy Pass as suggested on the Cloudfare captcha page, but that only results in more flickers before landing on the error page.

Exasperated, I then called a friend who runs Manjaro on his laptop. He has the exact same issue. His wife has a Windows Surface Tablet and it connects no problem. I also contacted a friend who is running Windows 10 on his desktop. He can access the page without a problem too. I can connect with my Xiaomi phone with no issues.

So I think we can conclude that this is a Linux issue with Cloudfare. Can anyone provide any guidance on how this issue can be overcome? It's driving me a bit mad.

I just tried - I am very careful with javascript & 3rd party requests, and I could not gert beyond the captcha. On FF 78.10.0esr.
Then I opened the same link in TOR browser - no problem at all.
Both, obviously, on Linux.

Hey, I'm okay with that. I was just trying to draw a conclusion, and I'm certainly open to being wrong, and it appears from what you are saying that I am wrong. Thank you for the work-around. I only need to access this site on occasion, and I'm pleased to report it works fine with Tor Browser on my systems as well. Thank you.

I can confirm this now; I can get beyond the captcha (if I want to) and I can see the site for the blink of an eye, then "unexpected error has occured". On 2 different browsers (FF and Falkon).
That looks like a conscious choice, not a technical problem (as "getting stuck" suggests).
Only the site maintainer has the answer to that question.
You could try spoofing your useragent - maybe they don't like the Linux operating system, nonsensical as that would be. I know TOR browser pretends to be FF on Windows.

Spoofing helps indeed. No captcha here, neither in Qutebrowser (Tubleweed 0.1, BeOS) nor in Tor Browser (FF Windows). Vivaldi is blocked: “Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML bla bla bla ....”. Just use anything else but Linux in the User-Agent string.

Is scam-detector of any value?

Yes, I just changed the user agent to "Chrome on Windows" and the page loaded but it didn't render correctly. I changed it to Chrome on Mac and it loads fine. Thanks for the help.

Nah, I don't think it's a scam. I would think that scam-detector flags most crypto projects as scams.

I was unable to connect to the site with Firefox on Linux Mint (VM) or Mageia (not VM). I got the same error as ondoho: "unexpected error has occured." When I tried to go to it using Konqueror on Magiea, I got the same error.

I was, however, able to go directly to the site with no captcha in my VM of Win8 using Firefox, Edge, and Internet Deplorer.

Strange, it rendered correctly on TOR Browser (which is Firefox, on Linux).

Have you checked your user-agent string, e.g on www.whatsmyip.org (Be sure to click on “More Info About You”):

HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0 (Tor Browser 10.0.16)
