Can my HP Pavilion dv2000z AMD Turion64x2 accept more than 2GB DDR RAM (4GB?)

Hi,

I've been wondering if my HP Pavilion can accept a memory upgrade.
It currently has 2GB DDR2 RAM and crucial.com says this is the maximum, but then below it suggests more memory may be possible with a 64-bit O/S.

http://www.crucial.com/store/listpar...ion%20dv2116wm

" Q: Will my system recognize the maximum upgrade?

A: Possibly

How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS. More information about OS memory maximums can be found at http://www.crucial.com/kb/answer.aspx?qid=4251."

I am running Ubuntu 9.10 x86_64 Linux.
This is a TL-52 AMD Turion64x2 processor with a 64-bit data width.

Has anyone done this with the dv2000z?

PLEASE tell me an upgrade to 4GB RAM is doable.
Or, if not, why not?

Thank you.

I checked HP website, and it says the maximum memory is 2048MB. I would presume this is regardless of software, and the comments on Crucial about 3 or 3.5GB are 'boilerplate' text that shows on every system there, even those that cannot reach such figures.
