can linux see the C: drive


I am trying to run Gmax12 with wine. When I get to the install location the installer wants to connect to c:. I have a drive that is fat32. /dev/sda3 Can I mount it as C:? If so how?

Hi.

I would think GNU\Linux has better tools than that? Quick e.g:Seems to me lots of "apps" want money for creativity and they want that too so why not just use microcoughed-windblow$? http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/malware-microsoft.html

The C: drive that the installer wants to use is a virtual drive that is mapped to the directory drive_c in your Wine directory, it is not an actual partition or disk. You don't need to use a FAT or NTFS partition for this.

wine emulates the c: drive, it's just a folder in your system, by default it's in "$HOME/.wine/drive_c"
