Can I remove samba package

I am running a desktop on linux and it is connected to a printer (through hplip and cups setup), has bluetooth and is used to access internet over cable modem. The desktop is not connected to any other computers. Can I safely remove 'samba' packages as it is for connecting to Windows computers?
