Can I move Untarred directories?

Is it o.k. to move the directory that was created when un-tarring to another directory? Will it damage anything? I have download folder and like to clear it out every so often.
Thanks.

If you're referring to a directory that contains files that were untarred and unzipped from say a file foo.tar.gz then you should be fine. Just don't forget where you moved it to!

It should be ok as long as you haven't installed something in there.

Thorten... nice distro there pal (Windows). I just hope whoever created that distro doesn't get taken to court over naming rights. :-)
