Can I copy old /home/ directory to fresh install?

Hi there
in
I've totally messed up my Suse 10.2 system and have no GUI at all. I have tried to fix it, but no good.

I want to do a complete fresh install. If I do this, can I then delete my new /home/adrian directory and replace it with my old one that is backed up on DVD?

If I can, is that it? i have no other changes to make?

Thanks.
Adrian

If you messed up only system and not program settings - you can without problems (especially with same distribution). You'll get personal program settings back, but system settings will be fresh.
