Can I burn disk image to a cd using my ibook and use it on a windows/linux machine?

Hi,

If I download the disk images for a linux distribution and burn them to cd using my ibook, will the disks be usable on a windows/linux machine?

i.e. are disk images platform independent after burning to cd?

Cheers,

Mark

I am almost sure it will work. Most CD writing softwares have support for iso9660, and as the name implies, this is an ISO standard, so it should work. But why don't you try first with a CD-RW and test the CD? At least you won't throw away a disk.
