can`t install ubuntu 10.10 in pentium 4

Hi folks!
I`m having problems trying to install ubuntu 10.10 in a pentium 4.
I run memory test in the start page after selecting language and I see lots of errors.
This is strange because I have added memory and changed the disk, which was broken.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards!
Agustina

Well, something wrong with memory then. You can try to launch other tests and see how they go. The one I am using sometimes is in http://www.memtest.org/

You could check that the memory sticks are properly seated in the slots.

If Memtest finds errors on your RAM then one of your RAM modules is faulty, incompatible or is running not in its specifications. Check the specifications (voltage, timings, ...) in your BIOS and set them according to your RAMs specifications. After that check your memory again with the test. If there are errors, take one of your RAM-modules out and run the test again, until you find that module that causes the errors. Then test this particular module alone with the test. If there are errors in this test, your module is faulty. If there are no errors your module seems to be incompatible with your other modules.

By the way, if you are new to memtest, whenever it is run, it will never finish. Run it for at least 4 hours, or the best would be to leave for the night.

I have installed it on a Pentium M.
