Unhappy Can't see my Samba server

I set up smb.conf with the proper group name and restarted the samba server but I still can't see the machine on the windows network, not even a computer search will show the linux machine.

Thanks in advance.

If you can connect from the same machine, but not another machine, maybe your firewall (ipchains?) is blocking the samba ports.
