Can't read Pilot device in FC4

I have recently moved from FC3 to FC4. I did a clean install to fix all the 'experimenting' I had been doing in FC3.

In trying to get my Palm device working, I can get as far as setting the port (yes, I changed access on ttyS0). When I try to read the ID from my Palm, the sync appears to work on my handheld, but the gpilot config screen just sits there waiting forever.

Anyone else run into this?

Thanks!
Rob

What Palm are you running and was it working correctly under FC3? What is /var/log/messages showing when the device is plugged in and turned on, and then when you try to sync it?

It is a Kyocera 7135, and it worked great under FC3.

/var/log/messages doesn't show anything regarding device when I attempt a sync:

Code:

Okay.. more googling and I think I may have figured out what's happening, but I'm not sure how to fix it easily...

I have found that I have 2 versions of pilot-link installed on my system:

Code:
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Installed Packages
pilot-link.i386 1:0.12.0-0.pre4.0.fc4. installed
pilot-link.i386 1:0.12.0-0.pre2.0 installed
pilot-link-devel.i386 1:0.12.0-0.pre4.0.fc4. installed
Available Packages
pilot-link-debuginfo.i386 1:0.12.0-0.pre4.0.fc4. updates-released[root@localhost ~]#
So i'm figuring that they are conflicting with each other... of course I may be wrong.

I want to remove just one of these, but when I try, YUM (or Yum Extender) wants to remove Evlolution, and a bunch of other things.

Code:

 pilot-link-devel i386 1:0.12.0-0.pre4.0.fc4.2 installed 479 k

Transaction Summary
=============================================================================
Install 0 Package(s)
Update 0 Package(s)
Remove 8 Package(s)
Total download size: 0
Is this ok [y/N]: n
How can I remove just the older (1:0.12.0-0.pre2.0) version and leave the newer?

Thanks!
Rob
