Can't mount DVD+RW

Hey all

I'm trying to write a DVD for the first time since i've used Linux (bout 1 and a half years) but it won't mount the blank DVD+RW - just get the typical "wrong fs type etc" error.

How do I do this? I'm really keen to write this DVD and it's been frustrating me all night...

(Tried copying the .iso to a FAT32 partition but got a message that it was too large - nothing to do with space on the partition as it's got about 7gb left... weird)

I've not a DVD writer, but I do know that you can't mount a blank CD (no filesystem to mount). You just put the disc in the drive and burn. I'm guessing it's the same way with DVDs.
Obviously after you burn data to it, it will mount no problem.

good luck.

make an iso image of something, call it say ./image.iso, then:

su
[password]
cdrecord -scanbus <--find the cdrecorder scsi id (eg. dev=0,0,0) this also loads the appropriate modules
cdrecord dev=0,0,0 ./image.iso
