Hmmm... I was fiddling around with the framebuffer and vga settings when booting last night. At one point, the bootloader seemed to freeze while replaying journals from my hd, so I pressed the reset button. Bad move apparantly, cuz' after that I can't get past the bios check. Not even lilo will load. The box just sits there, chewing for a while, then nothing happens. Is it possible that I fried my bios or something? Will a manual reset of the bios to factory defaults (pulling the reset jumper switch on the mobo that is) fix this? Cuz' if not, I don't know what will. I hate it when this kind of shit happens...

Is, or should I say was, this a purely Linux box? If it was a dual boot, i.e. windows and linux it sounds like you may have a OEM ID issue on your hard drive. Have you tried loading Live CD distro such as Knoppix?
