C Header files

I am trying to install a VMware module, but it keeps failing on me.

How do I find out where my C header files are located?

well, i'd *guess* that it want's your kernel headers? they would ususally be in /usr/include/linux/ check you've got them installed. more recently tho, the desire (esp from linus) has been to use only the headers in the kernel source, so you might want to reference the include dir in the /usr/src/linux dircetory (or wherever your source is IF it's installled)

VMware errors in RH 7.3

Found a relevent thread. This is what i'm experiencing after a fresh install.

What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running
kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include] /usr/include

The directory of kernel headers (version 2.4.9-9) does not match your running
kernel (version 2.4.18-3). Even if the module were to compile successfully, it
would not load into the running kernel.

I attempted to locate updated kernel headers but failed.
any 1 figure this one.

Thanks
DAG
