Buying Linux
Other than purchasing Linux online, what stores would you find Linux in ?
(Something common - Mandrake would be fine?) Anything in Canada would be helpful |
well the Canada option threw me, but why buy when you can download here.
If you must buy then the store that may be in Canada is Best Buy, and they carry SuSE for sure. |

You may want to look in some book stores for LINUX FORMAT
It's a mag out of the UK that has either a DVD or CDROMs for distros and a whole lot of applications each month. A few months ago it was Mandrake, next was Slackware 10 and this month its MEPIS and a few others. The articles are just so so, but the stuff on the disk is great. |
most large chain book stores will have several linux books for sale. most that are distro specific will have CDs for that distro.

Thanks for the help everyone. The reason I don't want to download it is simple. It would take me days (as I have dial-up internet)

Living With Dial Up
You really might want to check out Linux Format then (http://www.linuxformat.co.uk/). Especially if you are a newbie or an intermediate Linux user. Its expensive, but I think it is a really GREAT mag. Every issue comes with a DVD packed full of software (great for those who live with dial up). The discs always have a distro on them. I subscribe and really enjoy it.

wellington enable PM or e-mails and if you are in the States, ill mail you a distro.
