I have the 3 disk set of redhat 9 that came with redhat 9 bible but i dont have the bible itself,
What i am trying to do with no sucsess is copy and burn the install cd i have,,, (which works fine and has installed rh9 with dual boot xp with no problems),,,to a blank cd and make the burn one boot on restart .
untill now i cant get it to work i have tried several ways to burn it including the way stated on redhat site which is burning the iso byitself to a cd and getting that to boot but nothing works im guessing theres some kind of copywrite protection on the cd but i dont know why if linux is supposed to be free if this is the problem how can i get around it to get the burnt cd to boot and install properly and if thats not the problem can someone tell me what is.
i am using windows xp pro and i am using the defual program which is just copy and past to the burner and then hit "copy files to cd"
and remeber i didnt copy from redhat and am trying top put to a cd ... i have the actual cd's from redhat bible and am trying to duplicate them.
That's why it isn't working. You are only copying the actual files on the CD's file system. You aren't copying the hidden boot files in the CD's boot partition.
You will need to use a proper CDr program, I use Nero for Windows. Do a CD-Copy and it will work fine.
Use the above example if you want to copy the CD's in Linux.
thanks ahead of time if it works... i thought there might be some hidden files but wasnt sure how to copy them so im off to try it out now and find nero on kazaa... thanks
