Building rpm's

I'd like to take a survey on how folks create their rpm's.

I'm wondering if people use any special tools to help create the packages.

I was told about a tool named epm. I find the manual a bit confusing.

What would you reccomend to create rpm's easily?

Chris

checkinstall is the most common tool for this task.

Myself, I don't use it, I use my own "Gobolinux-like" method:

No, I just do the "old school" "configure; make; make -n install" (the "-n" just shows you what it would do) and craft the .spec files manually. Been doing that for years.
