Building a custom kernel optimizing for media performance

I am quite familiar with the basics of kernel compilation etc. etc.

What I am looking for is information on configuration settings to get the best out of multimedia performance specifically low-latency audio and enabling realtime access.

Can any experienced members point me to these settings?

Regards.

I've downloaded the latest stable kernel 2.6.15 from kernel.org, configured it and I am currently compiling it using make-kpkg (for Debian).

It's impressive (2.6.15). Has a lot more options than any kernel I've configured before! Looks quite exciting.

I have seen and enabled a couple of Kernel parameters regarding realtime/hardware clock access. I wonder if this would do the trick...

Nevertheless if it fails, it's a learning experience and I always have the earlier stock Debian kernel to fall back on! :)
