Build Linux from zero with kernel only... for fun...

Not only for fun, it is also for my Linux Study.

Is here any document which can help me to build a "kernel only linux" ??

Yeah it should be a crazy idea

Maybe this?

And there is some page for something specifically devoted to what you're talking about - if I can track that down, I'll add it. LFS is cheating because you're starting with a nice cushy base system already.

What do you mean exactly - kernel only?
Just the kernel doesn't do any good, you need at least a shell and some basic commands to interact with it.

Not sure if this exactly what you want, but take a look at gentoo. ( . If you do a stage 1 install just about EVERYTHING is compiled from source right on your system. Plus there is very little fluff, you install only what you need/want.

If you decide to use this distribution I HIGHLY recommend printing out the installation guide. Also, some type of always on internet connection is practically a must. Hope this helps.
