Buffer I/O error on device sr0.......

Trying to install Fedora 10 on an old Satellite A70, but when I attempt to boot from the CD (tried two), it gets stuck on "Buffer I/O error on device sr0......." (see attached screenie).

What does this mean?

The machine currently runs a virus-infested copy of Vista, perhaps that has something to do with it?

Thanks

It means that there is an area that is unreadable on your cd/dvd.

Try burning the image again to a brand new cd/dvd
