Bt878(ati tvwonder ve) took over my sound card??

My distro is Mandrake 9.1 and sound card is SB AWE32 and the ATI TVwonder VE card is using the bt878 mod.

I didnt have sound till i ran the "sndconfig" now I have sound, but it seems as though the capture card (bt878) has taken over my card. I started "Xawtv" and only got a few channels not the 70+ i get on cable and dont know how to add more. The sound matches whatever channel i am on, but, when i shut off "Xawtv" i still hear the channel sound.
Theres NOT a sound card in "mandrake control"/hardware, but under the heading of "other multimedia devices" theres the bt878 which is also under "TVcard".
I tried using "aumix" to see if i could shut the bt878 sound off via the "line" input....no go.
Anyone got any ideas about how to reliese the hold on my sound card that the tv has?
Thank you in advance

ok, here's an update on my sound problem. I do have sound but it's very hard to hear over the static caused by the ati wondertv card, seems as though its continously sending a signal through to the sound card. So I unpluged the jumjper wire from the tv card to the sound card and sound is fine now. But to use the tv card, i have to plug the jumper back in...... Anyone know a work around other than manually unpluging it???

I have the same issue, I just open my mixer and mute line in. It's easier then unplugging the cable.

I noticed that I don't have to do this untill I watch TV, but once I open either tvtime or xawtv, the sound starts but doesent stop after closeing these app's. So I just open my mixer and mute line in and all is well again.

I have always used Hauppauge cards, until I tried the All in Wonder. I experienced the same problem, got sick of muting, and or unplugging the the sound wire. I was never able to find a solution. It was simply not acceptable. I dumped the ATI card and went back to my old faithful hauppages.
