Browser hangs everything for 10 minutes then back to normal
Hi, this is my first post in a while- this forum has material to solve almost anything:)
I have 2.4 gHx processor but only 512mB memory - that's the first suspect although never used to be an issue- I notice distros now want more, had to force my install of Fedora16. I have about 2gB swap. Start up is fast and tidy. Then I start firefox. After 2 min everything slows up. Top shows firefox is the biggest user- wa goes really high. This also happens on Debian Squeeze- Etch used to be fine. Then after 10 min- all back to normal. Debian never used to do this- just used to hang. Gonna hit the logs later today but any hints before I start digging will be very helpful. Thanks |
which version of firefox do u use ?
is this associated with certain websites? |
Thanks Kareem
I upgraded memory from 512m to 1024m. That turned out to be the problem, everything is working well now |
