Are you looking for Broadcom or the IPW2200? The IPW2200 doesn't take broadcom drivers, the drivers are in most modern kernels, but it needs the firmware-intel (intel-firmware, firmware-iwlwifi, something like that, I'm not on Debian/Kubuntu at the moment) to work.

Have you tried using Additional Drivers from xubuntu settings. The Additional Drivers scans for hardware requiring activation or firmwares.

It can be found by right-clicking on the desktop and choose Applications > Settings Manager > Software & Updates.
Click on the tab Additional Drivers. If it sees your wireless card follow the on screen instructions.

I've used that method when I configured my laptop in the past. Of course, I was using a broadcomm type card. Actually, I did get the no driver found message the first time I did this. After I installed the bcmwl-kernel-source firmware and repeated the Additional Drivers step, my card was listed and activated. Do not install this firmware unless your card is a Broadcomm type.

Wireless cards are very tricky in linux. I do notice that the ipw2200 module is loaded from the lsmod output. So all you need is the firmware as Timothy Miller suggested.

I found this link on doing this: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi

Check if xubuntu has iwlwifi in the repository before doing it manually from the link above.

After you install the iwlwifi firmware, repeat the Additional Drivers steps and it should be listed for activation.

Thanks bro;I already fix the problem ,not sure how but i've been loading unloading software till my finguer hurt of so much hiting the keyboard keys, that's the price you pay when you try to learn things by yourself, some times i don't have a clue of what i'm doing but in the end with patience i get the job done, one thing i know if i had to gain my living of this stuff i would starve to death, though i remenber that i download some pakages from the restricted ubuntu software, don't know if that had anything to do with the success, whatever it was i don't know, but i'm good and i love this xubuntu desktop i love everthing about it.thanks again for trying to assist me, without forums like these i would never do it.oh you said that i shoul have in the software IWIWIFI i only have iw these are wireless tools i had to tick this one like i ticked a few of the just to try and uploaded them.
