bought a new computer - moving key settings, files, etc

I just bought a new computer to replace my POS 400 Mhz 128mb Linux computer. (Maybe now I can use KDE!) There are two things which are very important for me to migrate over to this new computer.

How do I migrate my thunderbird settings, folders, etc to my new computer?

How do I migrate my GPG private key to my new computer?

Thanks!

use "tar".........you can tar and compress these settings and burn to cd-r for safe keeping and just un-tar them to your new box........IF you can't burn them to cd-r.........transfer them via NFS (network file system ) if you have both boxes set to use this feature......

`ls -a`

All user config files are stored in hidden files within your home dir - that is the folders start with a period. Back these up and put them on your new computer and you should be allright
