Booting to Slideshow
I am working on a college project and want to finish it with a bang.
I'm trying to make a linux CD that boots on CD (like knoppix) but when it boots it just goes to a series of changing jpegs instead of booting to the system (to impress the ladies). I've tried a few things and have a general idea of what i'm doing, but then again I may have no clue what i'm doing. I've tried changing the load image when syslinux enters xwin, but it won't change or it comes up all obscure. please help, I need a good grade :-) thanks, adam |
You might want to give X a miss, and
use http://bytesex.org/fbi.html instead... :) Cheers, Tink P.S.: I'm NOT responsible for the hostname ;) |
Interesting, thanks... That sparks another question in my mind.. Could I use video also?
hmm.. endless the posibilities are. I could theoretically boot to a mpeg and loop it, correct? thanks a million adam |
Have you looked at how Movix works? That should provide all the essentials, and a good base for tweaking to your needs.
