Booting Problems

I have dual OS with xp and linux. For some reason grub loader did not lisit Xp while the system boots,i had press F8 to get both the OS displayed for me to select the OS.

So i Edited /boot/grub/grub.conf (i dont remember the exact line but it was something like this)

"title Windows XP
root (hd0,0)
chainloader+1

I changed the first line to "booting windows Xp "

After this my system automatically boots windows XP...i dont get an option to select Linux.

Please advise me on this.

It sounds like Windows may have overwrote your mbr. If this is the case use a bootable linux cd or floppy to get into your linux partition. Once in linux post your grub.conf here.
