Booting Knoppix from a Floppy

I have a knoppix cd, but my hardware is so old that it refuses to boot from a cd. One thing I know however, is that my computer can boot off of floppies. Would knoppix boot (sucessfully) if i copied just the boot folder to a floppy disk?

If this does work, how would I go about copying the rest of the important files?

If neither of these will work, could a USB key be used to boot linux.
