hi, i just downloaded and burned a DVD of Fedora core 3. now i need too boot it to install the os.
unfortunalty i am having trouble getting my computer to boot from my usb dvd drive. (no dvd drive on my computer)
bios does not directly support booting from usb.
i tried to manually boot from grub command line, but it would only let me choose betweed hd0 and fd0.
Your BIOS might have a "boot from an external device" option, which should do the trick. My computer was unable to boot from my usb floppy drive until I upgraded the bios. Check your computer manufacturer's site to see if you have the latest BIOS for your model.
i was hopping maybe there was such thing as a program i could put on a floppy disk that the bios could load before the os to enable usb support and then boot that device.
