booting an .ISO directly from GRUB

Hi.
I have an existing Fedora laptop partitioned to use the entire hard drive space. I have a Linux LiveCD that I want to boot without booting directly from the CD and without installing to the HDD. Is there a way I can copy the ISO for the LiveCD to my Fedora 4 partition and have Grub boot directly off the ISO? I can do this from vmware workstation or player install but I really prefer not to have to boot up Fedora and have to load VMware. I have seen some posts in other forums but nothing that seems like a full foolproof solution. One partial solution was to use Grub for DOS and boot off the ISO on a fat partition with something like the following in menu.lst. No one seems to have got it working correctly however. Any Linux gurus out there who have managed to get this up and running?

Cheers!

title Boot from iso on a harddisk
map (hdX,Y)/your.iso (hdZ)
map --rehook
chainloader (hdZ)+1
rootnoverify (hdZ)
boot

I am pretty sure this isn't possible. I have been looking around for nearly the same thing for over a year now. I wanted to load my external HDD up with different ISOs, and have them all be bootable from a menu. But I think the technical logistics of that make it too hard to do on computers with conventional BIOS. Or at least, that is what I have been told.

I would love to hear somebody with more positive information though.
