bootable images

Why can't you extract a bootable image from one of RedHat's installation discs and burn that to a cdrom and have it boot from that image? Do you have to make the image on you computer or is there something special to be done?

well one of my friends couldn't boot up RH7.2 from Cd so he just copied the boot imga to floppy......

I tried several things, but what I am trying to do is make one big ISO image so I can throw that on a DVD-R. I tried making images and yada yada, but what I really needed to do was specify a boot image and boot catalog when making the ISO image (always the simple things that keep something from working).

So you can copy the contents off of the install cd's, but when making a new ISO image from that, I just had to specify where the boot image and catalog were and bada bing bada boom it worked.
