When you re-installed XP, it overwrote the MBR, replacing the Linux bootloader with the XP bootloader. Linux is still there; you just can't get to it, unless you made a bootdisk when you installed Linux, or use some other means.

Other means would be: boot from the install cd, which gets you into a running version of Linux from cd; use something like Knoppix (basically the same thing).

Once you have Linux running from such media, re-install the Linux bootloader to the MBR (not to be confused with installing software. The bootloader software is already installed; now you need to write the first part to the MBR).

Search these boards for info on how to do it. There are many posts which deal with that topic.

Boot from your Suse CD, and you can easily find the option that reinstall the GRUB. (I can't remember exactly, but I think it is offering automaticly to fix the bootloader.)
