boot from disk image file from windows


Hi all,

Is it possible to boot from a disk image file(containing linux) file that resides inside windows and add a bootloader entry for booting from the disk image.??

Please help.

Not easily as far as I know.
If it's a live cd linux image you can run it using vmplayer from within windows.

what kind of image do you mean ?
there are several program for doing images (like Norton Ghost).
In general I think its not possible at all, but if you need to have it, I can propose you workaround (based on virtual machine). Tell me what kind of image you have...whole disk/partition ?
