boot error after kernel update

Hi, I've got fedora 12.
I've run today command: "sudo yum update"
and I've noticed that the new kermel have been installed (2.6.31.12-174.2.3.fc12.x86_64).
After that installation .. my camputer has several errors while booting and it doesn't want to start. So while booting I can see:
Code:
...
warning: Deprecated cofig file /etc/modprobe.conf ..... belongs to /etc/modprobe.d
...
FAILED: starting The Media Player Daemon: problem opening /root/.mpd/mpd.log for writing <this log file I've got in my users home folder!!!>
FAILED: starting flexlm server - could not open file /var/flexlm/aw_wojtek.dat <this is autodesk maya's license configuration file)
<and here the system freezes>
what is strange,that when I run through grub the previous kernel (2.6.31.9-174.fc12.x86_64) everything works ok!

my grub config:
Code:
default=1
timeout=3
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

Thanks for the info

Ran into the same issue
reinstalled video driver for new kernel and all is good
One thought I was led to beleive that the kmod was suppose to rebuild the video resource on kernel update? (auto magically)
