/boot duplicate (2nd hdd wont mount)

I have recently installed RH8 onto a 120 gig hd. (hda)

I have another 80 gig hd that I would like to use with my newly installed RH8 system.

The problem is that the 80 gig hd has a complete installation of RH8.0 as well and when booting up the second hd (hdb) says it cannot be mounted.

"LABEL=/boot duplicate - not mounted"

I need several files off of the 80 gig hd and thought that I should be able to put both hard drives in and just opy the info over.

Is there a way to get the 80 gig hd mounted so I can transfer the files. (Can I just change the name of the partition from /boot to /2ndboot. Will that allow me to mount both drives.

If so how do I do this.

Thanks

Just boot your usual hda, mount the hdb partitions you need and copy the files over. All there is to it.

fdisk -l /dev/hdb to find out the partition you want to mount. I would think you would also have a duplicate root partition.

To change the lable use tune2fs.

Thanks for the reply guys
How do I change the label to tune2fs?

After that how do I mount the newly renamed partition?

THanks again.

tune2fs is the utility that can change the partition label.

I don't remember the options to use, man tune2fs for options or search the web.

Mount it as you would any other device. Create a directory and use the mount command. Use fdisk to figure out which partition you need to mount.
