O'Reilly are good and so are SAMS.

Why not pick up a magazine and check out their reviews?

Another good book is the redhat bible by christopher Negus, I bought the book quite a while back for 7.2 and have found it extremely useful today while using redhat 9.0

I started out with Sobell's A Practical Guide to the UNIX System (which now has a specifically Linux variant), then moved to Welsh and Kaufman's Running Linux. These will give you a solid foundation that can later be supplemented with stuff from the web.

I've learned quite a bit from Running Linux, 4th Edition and Linux in a Nutshell, 4th Edition .
