Bluetooth unable send file Linux PC to Android phone
Phone TETRA (Android 8.1.0) shows paired with computer dekk (Ubuntu
16.04), which shows paired with TETRA.
Dekk has two bluetooth icons: the original and that resulting from
download of Blueman.
Phone status: Bluetooth ON, Settings-Security-Location ON/High accuracy.
Trying transmit via original icon dialog. Set bluetooth ON;
"bluetooth-sendto --device=<number> <filename>" results: Bluetooth
File Transfer: Make sure that the remote device is switched on and
that it accepts Bluetooth connections.
Trying transmit via Blueman icon dialog. Turn Bluetooth On;Send Files
to Device...;Select files to send dialog: <choose file>-OK;Select
device:TETRA-OK results: Sending files via Bluetooth; Error occurred,
Unable to find service record.
My comments. I believe "paired" means having on trusted devices list,
"connected" means in active contact; meaning of "visible" (in menu of
original icon) is unknown. There seem to be other packages, such as
"hci", but Blueman seems well-documented. Google has added a bunch of
security stuff; have I missed a setting somewhere?
well I just paired my cheep android 7.1.1 using blueman, in my laptop with the 'Bluetooth devices' window open with the phone selected, that little arrow on the right hand side, I clicked it, selected 'send file' found a image then transferred it. It received it, then I turned around and sent it back from the phone to me pc. it received it too.
so I am not sure what you're doing wrong, or if it is just the phone itself.
Phone status: Bluetooth ON, Settings-Security-Location ON/High accuracy.
I am requesting removal of this thread because I have become convinced that my laptop has a defective Bluetooth device. It is erratic as to whether it will pair with the phone, and it will never send data even when paired; whereas an older laptop will pair with the phone and send it data.
So you need to resurrect a necro thread that is 2 years old without contributing constructive information. Please reread LQ Rules
