Best book for a Linux newbie

Hi,

I'm perrty new to Linux, other than being able to install and use vi somewhat. What would be a good book to get that could help with rebuilding the kernel and other things.

thanks
Ron

I always suggest any of the O'Reily books are always good. Though if you plan on sticking with a particular distro like say Redhat, you may want to consider getting like Redhat Unleashed.. or something similiar.
Try going to a site like www.bookpool.com , they seem to have good prices on Linux books unlike amazon or bn.com.

When I started, I bought Running Linux by Matt Welsh, Matthias Kalle Dalheimer, and Lar Kaufman. I refer to it all the time. I'd definitely recommend it. It's published by O'Reilly, and I heard they just came out with the 4th edition.
