Hi all,

I want to write a script to benchmark a set of applications which are all performing a similar task against each other.

Can anyone suggest how i might do it, in particular whether there are any utilities i could use which will monitor and report CPU usage, I/O reads etc. and also a utility which will i can use in a pipe etc which will time the execution.

Well, to get simple timings, just use "time"

Other than that, don't know what to tell you.
