Question Battery Charge Monitor on Laptop.

Ok, I have a question . I have RH9.0 on my laptop. And there is alittle utility I have added to my laptops task bar. Its the battery charge monitor. Well, the problem I'm having is , its not reading correctly. It says that my battery is not present. Is anyone else having this problem? Or has had this problem? Just wondering. Makes it hard , when I'm unplugged from an outlet. And if so , is there a fix for it? I have tried going into its settings , but have not had any luck. Is there something I can do, or another program out there that I can use , that will tell me the same info? Was just wondering, I'am still new to linux, and I'm loving it. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, for any help in advance.

Could be that you are using acpi and the kernel is booted up with apm.

In lilo.conf, try adding apm=off acpi=on to the options line. Then run lilo and reboot.

I've found that my battery monitor is correct regardless of whether I have acpi or apm running.
