how do u delete a file in the terminal?

delete *filename here* wont work for me like it did in windows :P

rm <filename>

to delete a directory and all it's contents

rm -rf <directory>

the command you want is "rm"..... just do a : rm filename

Another thing you might check out is a book called "LINUX: Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition"
