I am using Red Hat 6.0. I just got my user created. What are the settings to be done to the path in .bashrc file, so that I start working with shell scripts and any programming stuff ???

Thanks in advance...

If you're using redhat, did you install the packages for the different programming languages (C, C++, Perl, Python etc.)? If you did, I'm pretty sure that they would be under /usr/bin/. But to make sure check what's in /usr/bin/ and check your path by typing the command: which path
