Bash changes...I think

Just before the Bash prompt (User Login), I have a message that says what the "default user password" is. It's actually a TTYLinux distro that I'm trying to strip down to the bare minimum...My question is: How do I get rid of this text?

thanks for your help

This text is most likely stored in /etc/issue

Sure was...

What is the /etc/issue file usually used for?

Companies often use the file to display friendly warnings like "this machine may only be accessed by authorized users" or something similar.
