Backup

Hello,

I am new to this forum and new to Linux. So far I am successfully installed Red Hat Linux and work great except few things that I need to taken care off but I got stuck.

First, How do I install Linksys Wireless Network Adapter R4 on Red Hat? and Second, how do I use Red hat to perform back files that reside on Windows Server 2000/2003? I would like to setup full backup and daily backup? I dont know where to start. Please help.

Thanks,

Khmernux.

You should really post these into the wireless networking forum, and hardware forums respectively. For your wireless card, please include the exact make + model of your card. Typing "lspci" should give you this information. A couple of places to start are the HCL on this website to see if anyone else has managed to get the same card going and how.

With regards to backing up files to a Windows server, you'd probably want to be looking at configuring Samba to connect into Windows shares. This way, instead of copying your files to tape or CD, you'd simply copy them to a windows share mounted on your Linux box. Check the Samba website for info on how to do this - there will be Samba packages for Red Hat you can easily install.
