Question avifile doesn't work....

I've installed avifile with both the tar.gz and the rpm and neither of them seem to work for me. I do not know what i'm doing wrong. When the installation completes all i have is a "avifile-config" in my /usr/local/bin directory. It installs the libraries and all but i can't play any movies. Can anyone help me out?? Thanks.

are you aware of what avifile is? it's a set of libraries to abstract oplkaying of avi files. it's not a player. programs like mplayer and xine use these libraries to do stuff. There's no reason to presum it's not worked, you'll want avifile 0.60... install it, and then install some other program...
