Automatically putting CD Rom icons = no good
im using redhat 7.3 and gnome and when i put in a CDROM is puts the icons on my desktop to them, i dont want this. how can i turn this off?

Post a copy of the file /etc/fstab But I think you will find a "supermount" in there, that should be removed.
Post a copy and the great people of LQ can probably help.

Yes, and call those men off, tell them that their large black coats in the summer give them away. No just kidding NSKL, I am not a conspiracy dude, but I agree. I love knowing exactly what happens when I run commands, and what won't happen. This is because I set it up the way I want it to. Slack is definitely good for those of us who can do things like that. But for now, I would just remove the supermount command from my fstab and see if that worked.
