Auto reboot or freezing with new 2.6.3 Kernel

Hi All,

I am right now running a hdd install of Morphix 0.4-1 with the old 2.4 kernel. However, I need to upgrade the kernel to 2.6.3 for some better hardware drivers. I used apt-get, since Morphix is a Debian-like distro, to install the new kernel by typing this command:

apt-get install kernel-image-2.6.3-1-686

It installed successfully and I then configured Lilo to be able to boot either the old or new kernel. However, when I select to boot the new kernel at the Lilo window, it begins to boot, but at "Bios Data check successful" it auto reboots. I then checked with the creator of Lilo, thinking it was a Lilo issue, but he said that it was not and that it was a kernel issue. I then decided to try the 386 kernel, but that froze at "OK booting the kernel".

I have an old 200 mhz Pentium MMX box, so the first kernel should boot, but I am not sure why. If anyone has any idea on how to fix this, please let me know.
