Auto-logout on console switch

I was wondering if there was a way to stop my RH8 box from logging me out of my X session when I temporarily switch to another virtual console. It's getting really annoying and my Mandrake machine doesn't do this so I think it's possible to turn off. Any ideas help, thanks!

any luck on this? I have a user who telnets to a RH8.0 linux box, executes a script and it logs her off once the script is complete.

she can then telnet into the same box, execute the script manually (line-by-line), and it does not log her off the machine.

if you have solved your issue, it might point me in the right direction, but I am clueless!
