auto ejecting cdrom?


hi everyone,

i was wondering if there is a way to make the cdrom auto eject after pressing on the eject button in the cdrom (like in windo$)insted of writing in bash umount everytime mybe adding "mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom" to /etc/fstab?

iam using fc1 under kernel 2.6.4 with kde,thx in advance ppl

Look at automount. It mounts stuff whenever you access it's mountpoint, and unmounts when you leave. So, some time after you using it, it will be unmounted again, and no 'umount' is needed to unlock the cdrom.

the closest thing without supermount might be an alias or script using eject.

alias cdout="umount /dev/cdrom;eject /dev/cdrom"
